"Your home was my home"
“Your Home Was my Home” is an exploration of reconnecting the past with the present. Alexandra Akigg revisits her childhood home using the little boy as her double, as a way to express her childhood self. This is reflected in the photographs that appear in the book, also recording the subjects with analogue techniques allows the images to represent old family archived images. The end result explores the idea of nostalgia and a sense of belonging as well displacement. Being somewhere that is recognizable yet so familiar yet so unfamiliar at the same time.
